We guarantee compliance with the current EU regulations in this area. The material contains no plasticisers, no chlorine gas and no heavy metals.

Is the packaging foam environmentally friendly?

Accepted Answer

The packaging foam is either recycled or used for energy recovery and is biologically neutral. As the foam consists of 99% air and only 1% PUR and is CFC-free, it can be considered environmentally sound, in contrast to other packaging materials that consume up to three times as much energy and cause four times as much air pollution over their life cycle.

Does the packaging foam meet the essential requirements of European environmental packaging legislation?

The objectives of these regulations (EN 13428, EN 13431, Article 11 of the Directive) cover the following points: prevention through source reduction, energy recovery and the avoidance of heavy metal concentrations. How is INSTAPAK foam disposed of?

Accepted Answer

Under the German Packaging Act, distributors are obliged to take back packaging and ensure it is recovered.
To fulfil these obligations, those placing packaging on the market may use the services of third parties (compliance schemes) such as INTERSEROH, VFW and others.
